Stathmore Guest House is conveniently located in Keswick at the heart of the Lake District. Whether you're arriving by car or public transport there are excellent routes in to the market town of Keswick.
By Car.
Travelling from the M6, turn off at junction 40 and follow the A66 for approx. 18 miles until you see the Keswick and Windermere sign. Follow this road for about half a mile until you come to a T-junction. Here, turn left towards Windermere on the A591. Do not turn right signposted Town Centre. After 100 metres turn right, sign posted for Castlerigg Manor. Continue all the way down this road which becomes Ambleside Road and you will see Strathmore Guest House on the right, opposite St Johns Church. Look out for the blue and gold sign.
If you are coming from Windermere on the A591, as you descend the hill into Keswick, turn left, signposted for Castlerigg Manor, then follow directions above.
By Train and Bus.
Buses run from the two stations that serve Keswick i.e. Penrith (North Lakes) and Oxenholme (South Lakes). The journey from Penrith is the most direct and takes about half an hour. The journey from Oxenholme is more scenic but does take longer. Both services call at Keswick bus station where you should alight. It is about 7 or 8 minutes walk through the town centre to Strathmore Guest House.
